Dr David Gunn

My approach to medicine is grounded in modern allopathic medicine (conventional medications and surgeries) but oriented towards improving health through helping patients understand their aliments and how changing their day to day behaviours can help.

There are times in our lives when medications and surgeries can be life changing and sometimes lifesaving. For many chronic conditions however, much can be achieved by identifying and changing the patterns and behaviours in one’s life that lead to poor health.

My goal is to help patients choose the most effective and safe treatments available.

I work with my patients to help them understand the physical, psychological and emotional causes of their symptoms and to design treatment plans utilizing thoughtful combinations of medications, exercise, nutrition, reduction of drug and alcohol use, and cognitive behavioural therapy.

We are fortunate in the Northern Rivers to have many skilled and compassionate specialists and allied health workers and I believe in a team approach, working alongside these professionals to find the most effective path to improved health and quality of life.
